They Might Be Thinking:

  • Where do I start?
  • I feel overwhelmed.
  • How do I find the strength to carry on?
  • I don't feel like I can get through this.
  • I feel all alone.
  • Everyone else seems to be getting on with life.
  • I don't really know how to get unstuck from this situation.
  • I feel like such a failure right now.
  • How do I find the courage to get beyond the now?
  • Who can I count on when the going gets tough?
  • What should I do when I encounter more adversity?
  • This is impossible.
  • I'm not getting anywhere any time soon.
  • What am I doing with my life?
  • Things have to change, and quickly.

Words That Might Be Encouraging:

  • There is always an opportunity. Our challenge is to get out there and find it.
  • There is always something good for us out there. It all comes down to perspective.
  • Let each experience become a teaching moment. What we learn is how we live.
  • Misery is optional. We must choose how we look at the world.
  • If you live every day as an exclamation instead of an explanation, you are going to have something SUPERIOR to cheer about every day.
  • There are times in our lives that we are expected to wait. To everything there is a season.
  • Just because you are waiting doesn't mean things are not happening. Like the farmer who plants the seed...
  • Talk positively to yourself and expect positive results to happen.
  • No matter what is going on in your life, all our experiences are to meant to make a difference in our lives.
  • If you know you can have it all someday, would you be patient and do what you should today?
  • God created each one of us, and there is a plan for everyone.
  • The first thing is to believe in God. If you listen carefully you will realize that He is offering guidance all the time. Listen to the messages.
  • You have to believe that you are still who you are regardless of whether you're wearing a red shirt or a green shirt; whether you are temporarily on crutches or walking around just fine; whether you are happily married or newly divorced; the fact is, you are still you!
  • Whether you've just suffered the biggest let down of your life or the greatest glory of your life; you're still who you are.
  • You have to believe that, not only are you capable of having, doing, being what you want, but also that you are worth it. You are worth living a great life.
  • You must know that just as things can change and become a mess overnight, so can they change and become great overnight.
  • You must trust that all messes can and will get cleaned up as long as you have patience and perseverance.
  • You must believe that you too have the ability to overcome. Decide to make your messes temporary inconveniences. Once you decide this, then be patient and allow yourself time to figure out what you need to do to clean up the mess. Take this in steps; don’t think you must tackle it all at once.
  • Once you believe it is a temporary inconvenience, you are on your way to getting out of it or over it.

Things That May Be Discouraging:

  • It happens to everyone.
  • Just get over it already.
  • You have had an easy life so far. You just need to find a way out.
  • No one is coming to save you. You have to save yourself.
  • Don't be afraid of failure. Failure is your best friend.
  • You just need to suck it up and figure it out.
  • This is all just part of the process of growing up.
  • No one ever helped me out.
  • You need to figure this out on your own.
  • Get over it already.
  • What's your problem?
